About us.

Our website is designed to show that we are here in Oxford and give a taste of what we can offer our customers. Some aspects of our little shop seem to be from the past but we are not afraid of grasping new technologies!
We sell a large variety of domestic hardware, electrical accessories and appliances, wide range of light bulbs, batteries, haberdashery, and a small range of cycle accessories. We also offer a key cutting service for household keys. Sorry but we do not cut automotive keys.
Please enjoy the pictures that will be added showing scenes mainly around Oxford and Oxfordshire.

North Parade Avenue is situated in the heart of North Oxford. It is about half way between Summertown and the town centre. North Parade Avenue is a small one way street leading off of the Banbury Road.
Coming from the city centre. Join the Banbury Road at the end of St Giles and North Parade Avenue is the second turning on the left. A landmark to look out for is Gees restaurant. Gees is housed in a Victorian green house type of structure and North Parade is just a few yards further along.
Coming from Summertown. North Parade is on the right hand side of the road just after Park Town. Two landmarks to look for are first the Cotswold Lodge Hotel (on the left) which is almost opposite North Parade, and the Veterinary Surgeon located on the corner of Banbury Road and North Parade (on the right).
There are frequent buses (Kidlington) along the Banbury Road and the nearest bus stop is Park Town.
From the West ( Jericho or Waterside). If on foot cross the Woodstock Road at the crossing near to Leckford Road and walk along Church Walk (alongside the very distinctive "Phil and Jim" church). Church Walk leads directly to North Parade at its western end.
By car take Canterbury Road off of the Woodstock Road. There is some parking in Canterbury Road and Winchester Road from where it is a short walk into North Parade. Winchester Road leads off of Canterbury Road and passes the ends of North Parade and Church Walk.
A little history.
We moved to North Parade Avenue (called North Parade for short) in July 1975 from St Clements in East Oxford. Our main business at that time was television rentals. The business was run by my Parents and myself, a real family affair! The shop was already a hardware shop but had been run down by the previous owners who were retiring. Mother worked hard on the hardware and brought it back up, whilst Father and I worked on the TV side. When my Father died in 1996 I took stock and realised that there was not enough work to take on an engineer due to the rapid growth of the cheap television and video recorder. Rentals were on their way out! With that I decided to "draw a line" under the television side and bring it to a halt and concentrate on the hardware side. Mother retired from the business some time ago and now the helm is under my command.
